The Japan Foundation is Japan's only institution dedicated to carrying out comprehensive international cultural exchange programs throughout the world. The Japan Foundation, Cairo, which was founded in 1995, is the only branch in the Middle East and Africa. 1. Arts and Cultural Exchange We organize events for promoting cultural exchanges between Japan and the MENA region such as music, fine arts / applied arts, literature, cinema, and so on. 2. Japanese Language Education To support Japanese language education in Egypt and the MENA region, we organize JF Japanese Language Courses in Cairo and Alexandria, seminars and workshops, online symposia, the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, and so on. 3. Japanese Studies To promote Japanese studies in the MENA region, we hold symposia, lectures, and so on.
