Street 9 Live Concert at MASQ

A live acoustic performance by Street 9, a Sudanese band presenting a repertoire of Sudanese songs with their distinctive approach of blending traditional rhythms with contemporary melodies.

In the beautiful historic setting of mediaeval monuments, the performance will echo with Sudanese music the exhibition by the self-taught artist Khalid Abdelrahman, originally from Khartum. It is not the first time for the MASQ to feature Sudanese artists, allowing for reflection on the relation between the cultures of Egypt and its southern neighbour.

The performance is part of the full-day programme “Under the Canopy of Cairo’s Domes”, at MASQ, including a bazaar, a walking tour, lecture, and exhibition opening. The programme is supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.
