A meeting point between groove and heritage unfolds on stage as Mazeek and Basheer bring two distinct musical worlds for a wonderful evening of sound! Mazeek steps in with a producer’s ear for rhythm and texture. Known for crafting groove-driven tracks through sample culture and MPC beat-making, his sound moves freely between hip-hop, Afro-influenced rhythms, funk, and jazz-leaning instrumentals, creating warm, layered beats. Taking the stage next is Basheer, whose music draws from the rich folkloric traditions of Upper Egypt. Inspired by the Ja’ffary cultural heritage, Basheer blends traditional vocal expression and rhythmic hand-clapping with modern instrumentation, from saxophone and violin to drums and bass, a contemporary interpretation of regional sounds that are timeless and dull of soul.
