Leather Bag Course

Learn the timeless craft of natural leatherwork through an immersive hands-on journey designed for beginners and creatives alike ✨👜

This 6-session Natural Leather Bag Course takes participants step by step through the fundamentals of working with genuine leather, guiding them toward creating their very first fully handmade natural leather bag — a piece designed to stay with them for years to come.

Throughout the course, participants will explore the full leather-making process, from understanding different types of natural leather and essential tools, to cutting, stitching, assembling, finishing, and caring for leather products. Each participant will have the freedom to choose the leather they want to work with, along with the bag design and details they’d like to create, making every final piece completely personal and unique.

Before creating the final bag, participants will first produce a mini prototype version of their design to test proportions, construction, and techniques — allowing them to confidently move into crafting the final piece with a deeper understanding of the process.

Beyond the technical skills, the course also introduces participants to the world behind the craft itself. You’ll learn where and how to source natural leather, hardware, tools, and materials, alongside a guided site visit to the actual suppliers and workshops to experience the process firsthand.

By the end of the course, you won’t just leave with a handmade leather bag — you’ll leave with the foundational skills, knowledge, and confidence to continue exploring the craft of leatherwork on your own.
