About this event

The Voice of the Soul through the Saxophone

Daniel Sami’s journey into the world of music didn’t start with a plan, but with a serendipitous discovery. Initially inspired by the melodic echoes of Kenny G, Daniel felt a deep connection to music long before he could identify the instrument behind it. It wasn’t until his college years, when he saw a fellow musician playing the Saxophone, that the mystery was solved. Starting with the Clarinet during his academic studies at the Faculty of Music Education, he simultaneously embarked on a lifelong obsession with the Saxophone. Daniel began his professional path with his first Yamaha YAS-275, and today, he performs on the legendary Selmer Paris Series III an instrument that matches the depth, warmth, and precision of his evolving artistry.

A true technician of sound, Daniel’s foundation is built on rigorous academic training and international exposure. While mastering the Clarinet, he dedicated himself to the Saxophone, eventually traveling to France to attend the prestigious Dordogne Jazz Summer School. Under the mentorship of the renowned Mr. Rashad Fahim, Daniel refined his understanding of the craft, blending European influences with his own unique, soulful style. He doesn’t just play the Saxophone; he lets it tell the stories that can’t be put into words, focusing on the silence between the notes and the effortless flow of melodies.

Daniel has graced some of the most prominent stages in Egypt, establishing himself as a formidable solo artist and a sought-after collaborator. He has headlined two successful solo concerts at El Sawy Culturewheel, where his personal musical vision took center stage. His versatility has also led him to share the stage with superstar Tamer Hosny and maintain a regular presence at luxury venues like the JW Marriott. Beyond live performances, Daniel’s signature sound is captured in studio recordings for some of the region’s biggest names, including collaborations with Mohamed Kammah and Mohamed Adaweya, along with his high-profile work with Tamer Hosny. Whether in a studio or on a stage, Daniel seeks to create an atmosphere where the instrument and the listener breathe as one.
